The Empire Justice Center strongly supports this bill ((S.2091(Montgomery)/A.3657 (Scarborough)) which encourages applicants for child care subsidies to obtain orders of support, but does not require such child support orders as a condition of receiving a subsidy. The current child support eligibility requirement, which has no basis in statute, has a detrimental effect on the most vulnerable children in New York State. Read More
