Who qualifies for the Tax Preparation?
To claim your credit you must:
- Have a valid Social Security Number and
- Be a U.S. citizen or resident alien all year and
- Worked full or part-time in 2009 and
- Had a 2009 income of less than:
- $13,440 ($18,440 if married filing joint) if you do not have a qualifying child
- $35,463 ($40,463 married filing jointly) if you have one qualifying child
- $40,295 ($45,295 married filing jointly) if you have two qualifying children
- $43,279 ($48,279 married filing jointly) if you have three or more qualifying children
If you do not have a qualifying child, you must:
- be age 25 but under 65 at the end of the year,
- live in the United States for more than half the year, and
- not qualify as a dependent of another person
To qualify for C.A.S.H. services:
- Your total household income in 2009 was less than $50,000 for families with qualifying children and less than $35,000 for childless workers and
- You worked and lived only in New York State during 2009 and
- You do not have rental property income and
- You did not sell stocks, bonds or other financial assets and
- If you are self-employed, you did not have employees and your business expenses were less than $5,000;

What you need to bring:
- Picture IDs for you and your spouse
- A Social Security card and an accurate birth date for each family member
- W-2 forms for all jobs worked in 2009
- All 1099 forms that you received
- Copy of last year’s tax return, if available
- Childcare provider’s name, address and tax ID number, if applicable
- For direct deposit, bring account and routing number information for both your checking and savings accounts
