Cathy RobertsSenior ParalegalEmpire Justice Center p: (518) 462-6831 f: (518) 935-2852 Cathy Roberts is a senior paralegal in the Public Benefits & Health Unit in Empire Justice Center's Albany office. Her work focuses primarily on prescription drug access and other health care issues affecting "dual eligibles" -- people who receive both Medicare and Medicaid. She provides training, support and technical assistance on health care issues to advocates and service providers working with low income elderly and disabled individuals across New York State. Monitoring and policy advocacy are an important part of Cathy's work as well. She also serves as a resource on food stamp/SNAP issues. Before joining Empire Justice, she worked as a food stamp specialist for the Nutrition Consortium of NYS, a statewide anti-hunger organization located in Albany, and as a paralegal at the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern NY where she provided advocacy services to clients in need of government benefits. Cathy participates in several coalitions on Empire Justice's behalf, including the NYS Medicare Part D consumer coalition, the national Medicare Advocates Alliance, the Medicare Savings Coalition, Medicaid Matters' Long Term Care workgroup, the Senior Nutrition Assistance workgroup, and Food Stamp Quarterly Advocates.
