With the economy remaining in the doldrums and many home values still underwater, there is a degree of government help out there as some of our elected officials are reminding us.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is pointing to $20 million this year — part of a three-year $60 milion effort — funding legal aid and other groups that can help advise people on avoiding foreclosure, while the state’s Department of Financial Services, is coming to the Albany area on Friday with to field questions from homeowners.
